Pardon Our Dust UPDATE

LANE Construction continues work on GRTC Pulse, a new bus rapid transit system serving the Richmond Region, from Rocketts Landing to Willow Lawn.

Work is occurring on Broad Street, with permanent closures of the median and inside lanes, from Hamilton Street to 1st Street. Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) has been established; see last page of this look-ahead for approved messaging on the MOT, which can be shared with stakeholders.

This week, station construction is occurring at Allison East, a median station on Broad Street. Traffic signal work is continuing at intersections along Broad St., at Willow Lawn Drive and from the Boulevard eastward. Median demolition is occurring from the Science Museum westward to Hamilton Street.

Most of the station construction is occurring during permitted daytime hours, 7.a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Saturday. The traffic signal work is occurring during both permitted daytime (7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Saturday) and nighttime hours (6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday to Thursday).

WEEKLY RECAP:   Sunday, February 12 to Saturday, February 18

Traffic Signals:
When: Night work (6 p.m. to 6 a.m.) Sun., Feb. 12 to Thurs., Feb. 16 
             Day work (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.) Mon., Feb. 13 to Fri., Feb. 17
Where:   Broad St. at Willow Lawn Dr., as well as between Boulevard and Allen Ave.
Impacts:    Temporary single and double lane closures laterally across Broad St. at signal  intersections.

Median MOT:
Impacts: Permanent closures of the median and inside lanes of Broad Street, between Hamilton St. and 1st St. Two travel lanes remain open in both directions.

Lane shifts are in effect at Allison, Science Museum and Cleveland stations. Parking has been removed in these locations, while construction is occurring, and will be restored to final configuration upon completion of each station. 

Roadway Work:
Details: Demolition of median curb from Science Museum to Hamilton St.
Impacts: No additional traffic impacts; work is within existing work zone.

Station Construction: Allison East 
Where: Median of Broad St., between Allison St. & Meadow St. 
Impacts: Permanent closures of median and inside lanes of Broad St., in both the 
eastbound and westbound directions, at Allison East. Street parking impacts are as follows: North side of Broad St (WB direction) between Strawberry St. and Allen Ave. parking has been permanently removed.  South side of Broad St. (EB direction) between Strawberry St. and Allen Ave. parking is temporarily removed, while the Allison East station construction is occurring. After completion of station, parking will be restored.

NOTE: In addition to daytime work hours (7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday), night work (6 p.m. to 6 a.m.) was required Sun., Feb. 12 and Mon., Feb. 13

Sunday, February 19 to Saturday, February 25

After completion of station, parking will be restored.  South side of Broad St. (EB direction) between Robinson St. and Terminal Pl. parking will be removed while construction of Science Museum West is occurring. After completion of station, parking will be restored.
