Lane Construction continues work on GRTC Pulse, a new bus rapid transit system serving the Richmond Region, from Rocketts Landing to Willow Lawn.

Testing on the GRTC Pulse system began Mon., April 23. Motorists traveling the project route should be advised of changes in some traffic turn signals and permanent parking configurations. For updated information on parking, please access:

Work is continuing at Willow Lawn; Staples Mill East and West; Scott’s Addition East and West; Science Museum East and West; Allison East and West; VCU & VUU East and West; Arts District East and West; Convention Center East and West; Government Center East and West; VCU Medical Center East and West; Main St. Station East and West; Shockoe Bottom East and West; East Riverfront East and West; and Rocketts Landing. Work includes landscaping and installing items such as cedar ceiling, totem signage, lighting, station glass and more. Meanwhile, roadway work and the integration of electrical components and communications are occurring.

While work is occurring, the public is advised to not enter station platform areas and to use designated crosswalks. Motorists, bikers and pedestrians are also advised to stay out of GRTC Pulse bus-only lanes and adhere to all posted signs.

Permitted hours are 7.a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday to Thursday.

With much of the station construction complete, Lane continues to make final finishes at the stations:  downspouts, cedar ceiling installation, totem signage, lighting, station glass and more. Meanwhile, roadway work and the integration of electrical components and communications are occurring. Permitted daytime hours are 7.a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday to Thursday.

On Thurs., April 19 and Fri., April 20, Lane Construction removed orange barrels along the project route, used for MOT and for station construction. Removal enables GRTC to begin Operational Testing on the GRTC Pulse system beginning Mon., April 23. Motorists traveling the project route should be advised that changes in some traffic turn signals and permanent parking configurations are taking effect from now and into the following weeks. Please drive carefully, stay out of GRTC Pulse bus-only lanes and adhere to all posted signs, including new parking configurations. Pardon Our Dust UPDATE

Lane Construction continues work on GRTC Pulse, a new bus rapid transit system serving the Richmond Region, from Rocketts Landing to Willow Lawn.

This week on Broad Street, station construction continued at Willow Lawn; Staples Mill East and West; Cleveland East and West; Science Museum East and West; Allison East and West; VCU & VUU East and West; Arts District East and West; Convention Center East and West; Government Center East and West; and VCU Hospital East and West. On E. Main Street, construction continued at Main St. Station East and West; Shockoe Bottom East and West; East Riverfront East and West; and Orleans. In addition, roadway work and integration of electrical components and communications are occurring.

Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) has been established in areas along the project route; see last page of this look-ahead for messaging on the MOT, to be shared with stakeholders.

Construction activity is occurring during permitted daytime hours, 7.a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and permitted nighttime hours, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday to Thursday.
