This week on Broad Street, station construction continued at Willow Lawn; Staples Mill East and West; Cleveland East and West; Science Museum East and West; Allison East and West; VCU & VUU East and West; Arts District East and West; Convention Center East and West; Government Center East and West; and VCU Hospital East and West. Work also occurred along the sidewalk and curb of WB Broad St. near Allison St. and Hermitage Rd. to set storm drain inlets. On E. Main Street, construction continued at Main St. Station East and West; Shockoe Bottom East and West; East Riverfront East and West; and Orleans.
Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) has been established where work is occurring; see last page of this look-ahead for messaging on the MOT, to be shared with stakeholders.
Most station construction is occurring during permitted daytime hours, 7.a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Saturday. Other work relating to roadway, traffic signals and station canopy installation is occurring during both permitted daytime and nighttime hours, 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday to Thursday. Where: EB Broad St., btwn Byrd Ave & Willow Lawn Dr.
What: Cedar ceiling / Totem signage
Station Impacts: A portion of the roadway will be closed for construction operations, but travel lanes should remain open in both directions. Sidewalks within construction zones will be closed during construction.

Where: Eastbound Broad St., between Staples Mill Rd. & Blacker St.

Cleveland East/West (Median Stations)
Where: Broad St. between Cleveland St. & Altamont St.
What: Totem signage / Misc. furnishings (both stations)
Parking Impacts: North side of Broad St (WB direction) parking will be temporarily removed while construction of Cleveland stations is occurring. After completion of stations, some parking will be restored between Sheppard St. and Boulevard; west of MacTavish St.; and between Roseneath Rd. and I-195 overpass. South side of Broad St. (EB direction) parking will be permanently removed from I-195 overpass to Boulevard.
Station Impacts: Left-turn access from Broad St. onto Cleveland St. and Altamont St. is temporarily closed, in both the eastbound and westbound directions, while construction of this station is occurring. Lane shifts are in effect. Permanent closures of median and inside lanes of Broad St., in both the eastbound and westbound directions, from Hamilton St. to 1st St.
Science Museum East/West (Median Stations)
Where: Broad St. btwn Robinson St. & Terminal Pl.
What: Install lighting (both stations)
Parking Impacts: North side of Broad St (WB direction) parking will be permanently removed from the Science Museum entrance to near Terminal Pl. After completion of station, some parking will be restored near Terminal Pl. South side of Broad St. (EB direction) parking will be permanently removed between the Boulevard to Strawberry St. After completion of station, a few parking spaces will be restored west of Robinson St. and west of Strawberry St.

Allison East/West (Median Stations)
Where: Broad St. between Meadow St. & Strawberry St.

Parking Impacts: North Side of Broad St. (WB direction) parking will be permanently removed from Harrison St. to Belvidere St. After completion of station, some parking will be restored west of Harrison St., near the Siegel Center. South side of Broad St. (EB direction) parking will be temporarily removed across from Hancock St. to Laurel St. After completion of station, some parking will be restored east and west of Shafer St.

Where: Broad St. between Foushee St. and Jefferson St.
What: Install lighting (both stations)
Parking Impacts: North side of Broad St. (WB direction): Parking will be temporarily removed between Brook Road and approx. 90 ft. west of Jefferson Street. South side of Broad St. (EB direction): Parking will be temporarily removed from approx. 120 ft. west of Jefferson Street to approx. 75 ft. east of Foushee Street.
