Pardon Our Dust UPDATE

LANE Construction continues with work on GRTC Pulse, a new bus rapid transit system serving the Richmond Region, from Rocketts Landing to Willow Lawn. Currently, utility relocation is continuing in locations along Broad Street and Main Street. Roadway work, in preparation for station construction, is continuing on westbound Broad Street.  Permitted work hours are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Saturday.  Please note that night work can occur as permitted if unforeseen field conditions arise or as needed to minimize area impacts.  Follow us on Twitter @GRTCPulse for updates on work hours.

WEEKLY RECAP:   Monday, December 5 to Saturday, December 10

Utility Relocation:    

• Where:   Median of Broad St., at Hermitage Rd.
• When:    This is night work (6 p.m. to 6 a.m.) occurring on Tues., Dec. 6, and Wed., Dec. 7. This work also occurred during the day (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.) on Wed., Dec. 7.  
• Impacts: One inside lane is closed, in both eastbound and westbound directions. Two travel lanes remain open in both directions. On-street parking is closed in this work zone.

Roadway Construction:   

• Where:  North side of westbound Broad St., between Allison St. and Strawberry St.
• Impacts:Temporary closures of the westbound curb lane and adjacent sidewalk, as well as temporary loss of street parking, from Allison St. to Strawberry St. 

Monday, December 12 to Saturday, December 17

Utility Relocation:  

• Where:   South side of eastbound Main St., from 15th St. to 17th St.
• Impacts: Temporary closures of curb lane and sidewalk. One travel lane will remain open.  

Roadway Construction:   

• Where:   North side of westbound Broad St., between Allison St. and Strawberry St.
• Impacts: Temporary closures of the westbound curb lane and adjacent sidewalk, as well as temporary loss of street parking, from Allison St. to Strawberry St. 

MOT Sign Installation:   

• Where:    Eastbound and westbound Broad St., from Thompson St. to Foushee St.
• Impacts:  Temporary closures of curb lanes and parking, between Thompson St. and Foushee St., in both the eastbound and westbound directions. 

Traffic Signal Work: 
NOTE: Work is occurring in both eastbound and westbound directions.   

• Where:    Broad St. at Willow Lawn Dr. east to 14th St.

                      14th Street between Broad St. and Main St.

                      Main St. at 14th St. east to Orleans St. 

• Impacts:Temporary closure of curb lane, adjacent sidewalk and bus stops in affected areas

Monday, December 19 to Saturday, December 24
NOTE:  LANE expects median station construction to begin this week. This includes saw-cutting the median, from Thompson St. to Foushee St., and station foundation work, beginning at Allison East.
